Hey, my name is DJ Tim Stubbs and I love music! I’m a musician, a DJ, and a music producer. Since I was a kid, I have always been humming a tune and analyzing every sound I’ve heard. I come from a background of professional classically trained musicians. Performance and music have always been my way of life and communicating with the world.
At age 13 my dad bought me a guitar and like magic, I picked it up the first day. Since then I have developed my skills and the guitar has become basically an extension of my own body. Naturally, I organized all kinds of bands in high school and performed regularly for my church. I even won a state championship for singing in the choir.
Not long after that, I discovered music production. Just like the guitar, it was like magic! I was composing music from all kinds of genres, and audio engineering came to me effortlessly. My musical passion, intuition, and a strong understanding of psychoacoustics led me instinctively on what crowds like!
I quickly progressed into DJing, which I loved for the ability to provide a much larger spectrum of music to crowds. My DJ mixing skills grew fast and before I knew it I was performing for crowds of over 1000 people! I also got featured on college TV and picked up by a production company in LA.
Over the past 14 years, I have worked on over 100 songs and I’ve performed over 2000 times at everything from upscale parties and weddings to a nightclub in Northern California where I was the resident DJ for 3 years.
I was also a part of the online audio engineering collaboration forum Indaba. It’s where artists like Usher, Aloe Black, Zedd, Selena Gomez, and Miike Snow post their songs for a remix competition. I ended up scoring third place with my Miike Snow remix!
Since I grew up in a musical family, I have a great knowledge and love of all types of music. I can play a great mix of anything from Snoop Dogg to the Bee Gees! My personal favorite genre of music is electronic, simply because of my appreciation of the complexity in the sound design, specifically in Dubstep. Major influences for me have always been Armin Van Buuren, Dash Berlin, Porter Robinson, Skrillex, Knife Party, and Virtual Riot to name a few.
Overall I do it for the love of music and the energy of the crowd. There is no greater experience then synchronicity with the crowd, feeling their excitement, and creating a night of epic proportions! I am your knight in shining armor and your wish is my command at your event. My experience and passion guarantee you the best event ever or my name isn’t the notorious, infamous DJ Tim Stubbs!
