20 Mar Sam and Mike’s March Wedding at Marina Village
Sam & Mike’s wedding at Marina Village began with a lovely ceremony on the North Lawn. We were able to use our battery-powered speaker system to supply music while the guests were being seated, and we also supplied the lapel mic to the officiant so that everyone would be able to hear the big moment. The March weather was cool for San Diego, but the ceremony went off without a hitch.
The guests then moved to the Bayview Room for cocktails and dancing. The room had an upstairs loft space that lent itself perfectly for our photo booth. Dancing took place downstairs on the main floor.
Sam and Mike chose “I’m On Top of The World” by Imagine Dragons for their grand entrance song, which succeeded in getting everyone hyped. After the traditional wedding dances, everyone was treated to a buffet dinner.
After dinner, we had an anniversary dance, and all married couples were invited to take the floor. The longest married couple had been married 35 years. The crowd was lively throughout the night, and there was a great turnout on the dance floor for the whole event. We were also able to pay tribute to Mike’s favorite karaoke jam by playing “Heartbreaker” by Pat Benatar, which isn’t usually a song we get to play at most weddings, lol! But everyone had fun watching the groom rock out. Overall, it was a great time DJing Sam and Mike’s wedding at Marina Village. I wish them the very best in the future!
Main songs from Sam and Mike’s wedding at Marina Village:
First Dance: “Marry Me” – Train
Father/Daughter Dance: “What a Wonderful World” – Louis Armstrong
Mother/Son Dance: “A Song for My Son” – Mikki Viereck
Anniversary Dance: “Perfect” – Ed Sheeran
Here’s a five-star review they gave me on Yelp as well!
We had such a great experience with Dancing DJ. We used them for our DJ and photobooth. They were prompt, professional, and kept the party going the whole night even though many drunken shenanigans. We ended up running a little early and Will was great at adapting to whatever was going on at the time. He worked hand in hand with our day of coordinator to create the wedding of our dreams. The photobooth was a huge hit and we loved the pictures we got out of it – what a great way to replace a sign in book. Overall I’d recommend Dancing DJ for any wedding or event you may have. You won’t be disappointed.
