01 Aug Noelle and Steve’s June wedding at The Prado
Dancing DJ Productions has been booked for lots of big events lately, so Noelle and Steve’s intimate summer wedding at The Prado’s Alhambra Room was a nice change. The couple got married down by the fountain with live music, which gave us plenty of time to set up their cocktail hour on the balcony. When the guests arrived, we treated them to Spanish guitar music to complement the warm outdoor weather and The Prado at Balboa Park’s famous Spanish architecture style.
Once the reception space was ready at the Prado, the guests moved indoors for Noelle and Steve’s grand entrance to “This Will Be” by Natalie Cole. The Best Man and Maid of Honor gave speeches before everyone was served dinner. We also provided amber uplights to compliment the Alhambra Room.
After dinner, a few more guests offered toasts to the newlyweds, and the traditional dances took the floor. Noelle and Steve’s first dance was to “Better Together” by Jack Johnson, which suited the fun, eclectic couple perfectly. Next was the father and daughter dance to “Here For You” by Neil Young and the mother and son dance to “You Are My Child” by Barry Manilow. Once those were done, the dance floor was opened, and a dessert table was offered for guests to keep up their energy while they danced the night away.
Even though this was a small wedding (only about 50 guests made up of close family and friends), you couldn’t tell by looking at the dance floor. Everyone had a blast, and we got to play a fun list of 70’s and 80’s classics, as well as some fun requests. One guest requested a heavy metal song, which was an inside joke, and the groom requested a Russian dance song! All in all, it was another wonderful wedding in the books, and it just goes to show, you don’t need tons of guests to have a fun party on your big day.
We had so much fun at your wedding, Noelle and Steve! Thank you for letting us be a part of your day, and we wish you all the best in your future together.
Here’s an awesome five-star review they wrote us on WeddingWire as well!
From the start, Will was the easiest decision of the whole wedding. He impressed us immediately with his professionalism, preparedness, & knowledge of the local San Diego venues. Will was very prompt in responding to messages, gave great suggestions about music selections & lighting for the venue, his planning website was convenient & easy to use, he even sent reminders to us when the event was getting close and we still had details to fill out. There wasn’t a single worry or concern regarding him after choosing him as our DJ. Will was also very helpful on the day of our wedding as we did not have a coordinator or planner, he sort of stepped in and assisted whenever we had questions about how events were supposed to go. When we were going to do the grand entrance, he came out and talked us through the process, then verified our dinner timeline before we went in to assure things went smoothly (which was great because we had last minute changes we forgot to tell him). The mood Will created for dinner was perfect based on what we discussed with him during our planning sessions! He did a wonderful job directing the guests when they needed to be directed and had great situational awareness when it came to allowing people to eat, allowing my wife and I to tour of the room to talk to guests, and starting and directing the toasts. When it came time to let loose & boogie, Will nailed it! We were a little worried since we had a smaller wedding that people wouldn’t be quite as willing to dance, but Will was able to get people up and moving with ease! The dance floor was hopping all night, and on the rare occasion that a song wasn’t working, Will noticed and changed it up quickly to get things right back on track! I absolutely can’t recommend Will enough! He did a great job DJ’ing our reception and everyone had a fantastic time!
