11 Jun April Wedding at La Valencia Hotel
Griffin and Michelle celebrated their wonderful April wedding at La Valencia Hotel in La Jolla! They enjoyed a beautiful day, and everything turned out great for them and their guests.
They started off prelude music with some classics, with instrumentals of cover versions for the ceremony music. The bridal processional was to the cello version of “Golden Hour” by JVKE. For the recessional, the couple went with the orchestral version of “Butterflies” by Kacey Musgraves.
After the ceremony, the cocktail hour got underway on the veranda patio. Michelle and Griffin gave us a nice mix to play during that portion. Then the bride and groom had a fun, upbeat grand entrance to “Stumblin’ In” by Cyril – all the guests really enjoyed that part!
The couple’s first dance carried the theme from the ceremony to “Golden Hour” by Kacey Musgraves. After that we played a mix during dinner that included romantic songs like “Thinking Bout You” by Rei Brown and “Let Me Love You” by Mario.
The reception moved on to toasts, then cake, and also the parent dances right away. With only the bouquet toss left for the formalities, there was plenty of time for a great party! Once the dance floor got going it was packed for a good two hours of dancing!
A lot of the groom’s-side guests were from the East Coast with the bride’s side more from the West Coast, so we had a good mix of people! The couple had a great overall mix of 2000’s pop, hip-hop, R&B, along with some EDM and some punk rock songs.
Guests took home their own photo strip memories commemorated at our open air photo booth. They chose to do our 3D flower wall upgrade for the backdrop which really accented the decor. Everyone had a really good time, and it was a great party!

We hired DJ Will for our wedding, and he was fantastic! He was very communicative up until the wedding date, figuring out details for specific songs for all the memorable moments of our wedding, and he did a great job at taking song preferences we gave to him and incorporating similar tracks during the reception. All of our guests had a great time, and our dance floor was never empty. Would highly recommend DJ Will and would be happy to work with him again in the future!
