08 Nov October Wedding at The Crosby Club
Wow, I just had a blast Djing Travis and Kristin’s celebration! Their October wedding at The Crosby Club in Rancho Santa Fe was awesome. It started off with perfect weather for their beautiful ceremony outside in the courtyard.
The ceremony was followed by cocktails. I played an upbeat mix. During dinner, I played a selection of their mellow requests and Jack Johnson type music. At the end of dinner, Travis and Kristin started off the toasts with a heartfelt thank you.
After the toasts, Kristin danced with her father and Travis danced with his mother. Then the party began! I had everyone get on the floor to start the dancing, and from that point on the dance party never stopped! I played a mix of Travis and Kristen’s requests, guest requests and great songs that worked well for the crowd. Here are some of the highlights!
One of the highlights of the evening was the family tradition of singing along to Don McLean’s “American Pie.” It was the most energetic sing-along I’ve seen in a long time!
Here’s a great shot of Travis right after the song ended!
Travis and Kristin requested the “Cha Cha Slide” and “Cupid Shuffle,” which were big hits!
Meghan Trainor’s “All About That Bass” was a popular request.
The last dance to Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline” was a nice close to a fun evening! They did chant for one more song, so I did ended up playing Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing” as an encore.
Here’s the five star review Travis and Kristin posted on WeddingWire afterward! I wish them both the best. :)
DJ Will was amazing! He did the music for our ceremony as well as for our reception and everything was perfect. He got all of our “must plays” in and had people on the dance floor the whole night! We had a couple special requests for some family favorites and DJ Will was overly accommodating. We wanted to make sure that people wouldn’t miss these favorite songs so DJ Will made announcements to let our guests know they would be played after the next two songs. I’m sure he has never seen a family dance and sing to American Pie as much as our family does and it should be one for the memory book. Thank you for being such an instrumental part of our big day and helping us host such an awesome party!
