22 Feb Multicultural Wedding at the Westin Carlsbad
Sireesha and Andrew had a fantastic multicultural wedding at the Westin Carlsbad Resort and Spa. It was an Indian and American wedding, so we got to play a fun mix of music! The couple held a traditional Indian ceremony in the morning at 10:00 am, followed by a cocktail hour. Then after about a 3½ hour break, the Western ceremony took place at 3:30 pm followed by cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing that capped off the celebration. It was a lot of fun!
We got to incorporate some Indian music along with American music. The couple wanted to steer more toward American music and chose “Here Comes the Sun” by Emerald Empire Band for the wedding processional along with “What I Like About You” by the Romantics for the recessional. We still incorporated some Indian hits they requested, which made it a great night!
The weather was perfect throughout the day, and we played an upbeat mix of music for cocktails!
For the couple’s grand entrance, we played “Don’t Stop the Party” by Pitbull. That segued into Haley Reinhard’s version of “Can’t Help Falling in Love” for the first dance. It made a sweet moment!
The couple chose cake pinspot lighting with uplights for the ballroom in amber color, so their reception space looked really nice.
We had a great crowd, starting the open dancing with “Lungi Dance” by Yo Yo Honey Singh. The dance floor was full the whole time! Sireesha and Andrew said they’d never been to a wedding where people had danced so much! It was a lot of fun and super high energy. We got to include some fun requests they had, and everyone had a great evening.
“Don’t Stop Believing” by Journey closed out the dancing for a high-energy send-off! Thank you for having us as part of your multicultural wedding at the Westin Carlsbad!
