16 Feb Fall Wedding at La Valencia
Michael and PJ celebrated their fall wedding at La Valencia in La Jolla. We provided a great package for them: a DJ/MC, photo booth, amber uplighting, cake pin spot lighting, and a disco ball, along with our enhanced club lighting package!
We started out the reception portion, since they had live music for the ceremony and cocktail hour. We did provide mics for the ceremony portion, though, so all their guests could hear their beautiful vows!
We started off the grand entrance with “Levels” by Avicii, which was super high energy. Everyone really enjoyed that! Then we went right into their first dance, which was ironically entitled “Last Dance” by Leisure.
After that we segued into a nice dinner playlist. The couple contributed some requests. We mixed in some additional selections that worked well for them, such as “You’ll Be in My Heart” by Phil Collins.
During the toasts, Michael’s dad gave a really nice speech, along with a couple from the wedding party. After that we had the mother and son dances. Michael and his mom danced to “My Wish” by Rascal Flatts, and PJ danced with his mom to “Boy” by Lee Brice.
Once open dancing started, the couple had chosen most of the playlist for that portion with a good selection of music. We made sure to incorporate their favorite songs! He was able to mix in a lot of different genres. They liked a lot of dance pop, with some EDM, some pop songs, some hip hop, for a good overall vibe.
They really liked Madonna and Donna Summer, so we made sure to mix in some of that along with some classics, which also worked for the disco vibe. We included some BeeGees in there with other classic disco songs and had a great time overall. The dance floor was completely full the whole time with great energy!
They had a very nice cake cutting with a beautiful cake decorated to matched the wall. Michael and PJ chose to play “Cake By the Ocean” by DNCE for a fun touch.
The couple created another special moment with a surprise dance to “Pink Pony Club” by Chappell Roan! Their friends entered in costume, dressed up like pink ponies. That was really a fun moment near the end of the night.
Everyone had a great time! It was a very fun wedding, and they were super happy. Thank you for having us as part of your fall wedding at La Valencia!
