Hola! Mucho gusto. I am DJ Richie Sanchez, aka DJ Organic Hispanic. I was born in Riverside, California, and moved to San Diego when I transferred from CSU San Bernardino to SDSU nearly 30 years ago. I have been a professional DJ for 25 years, working in the club, festival, and wedding scene throughout Southern California. I was a teacher in Chula Vista, California, for 26 years and have recently retired to become a full-time travel dad. I have 19-year-old twins, both studying Environmental Science and Engineering at Harvey Mudd University and UC Davis.
Growing up in the 80s as a teen, I fell in love with new wave music and experienced the foundation of hip-hop in real time. I am an avid vinyl junkie and record enthusiast, so I have recently been on a quest to visit every record store from San Diego to San Francisco in my travels. When people ask me, “What kind of DJ are you?” My response is that I am a mashup DJ who combines old school music with a Latin vibe!
During a typical dance set, you might hear La Chona mixed with Steve Aoki while transitioning to Outkast, then back to Selena. As a DJ, I like to keep you guessing by playing a variety of bangers while studying your crowd with the overall goal of getting everyone to dance at some point. I always feel blessed to control the flow of the evening as your DJ, and it is very important to me to slow down for those special, intimate moments while at the same time crushing your party with an amazing collection of dance hits! Musically, nothing is off the table, and my library is quite extensive, from country to the current pop hits.
