Hi, I’m DJ Darius Jay, a San Diego native with a lifelong passion for music and over 12 years of experience as a DJ. My journey into the world of music started early, growing up surrounded by the sounds of various genres. Music has always been a huge part of my life, from playing instruments as a kid to creating mixtapes for friends and family. My passion for music evolved naturally into DJing, where I found my true calling—bringing people together!
I started out by spinning tracks at local parties and events, and my love for DJing grew with each set I played. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to DJ at some of the most vibrant spots in downtown San Diego, especially in the lively Gaslamp Quarter. My style is all about high-energy mixes that blend genres like Hip-Hop, R&B, Latin, House, Pop, Rock, Funk, and Soul, keeping the party going and the dance floor packed!
Another interesting fact is I have a B.S. in Biological Sciences from UC Santa Barbara and have a background as an analytical chemist. This helped me develop meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to excellence which translates perfectly into the event world.
One thing that sets me apart is my electric saxophone. Incorporating live sax into my DJ sets adds a unique twist that guests always remember. It’s a way for me to connect with the crowd on another level and ensure the night is unforgettable.
