Hello, all! My name is Alex Metts, also known as DJ Ace Boogie. I’ll start by saying that I hail from Wilmington, North Carolina and I’ve been located in Southern California since 2022. I moved out here to chase my dreams of being a full-time DJ!
I’ve always been a fan of music. While hip-hop & R&B are some of my specialties, I’m very proficient in a wide variety of styles! My parents consistently had music playing throughout the house and I always enjoyed it. Anything from Smokey Robinson to Stephanie Mills to The Temptations to Michael McDonald and everything in between. I’ve been DJing since 2014 and strive to try and make myself better every day. Since I’ve been in Southern California, I’ve DJed everywhere from San Ysidro to Hollywood, and I’m always looking to build my résumé.
I love the feeling that music brings and being able to push that feeling through the speakers back to my respective crowd. Whether it’s a rooftop bar or a speakeasy or a wedding, I look forward to the responsibility of controlling the dance floor and maintaining a solid vibe throughout the entire event! My mom always told me as long as you enjoy what you do for a living, you’ll never work a day in your life. That’s certainly how I feel about DJing, and that’s what keeps me motivated!
