DJ Mark Jones

Sup! My name is Mark Jones. I’m a United States Marine who was honorably discharged right here in beautiful San Diego. Needless to say, I decided to stay in San Diego after my contract ended. After the Marine Corp, I started a business as a personal trainer, developing many different prevention-related initiatives and a dance fitness program for fitness. For many years I also worked hand in hand with underserved communities in the San Diego County area, providing these same services for free. Little did I know that my passion for health would lead to an exciting career as a nationally requested DJ and emcee.

My career shift started when I was invited to warm up thousands of runners for the Hollywood Half Marathon.  It went so well that I was invited to do it again and again for many different events all over the country. I could have never guessed at the time that my ability to lead thousands of people with warm-up choreography, love for music, and energetic personality would allow for an easy shift into emceeing and DJing.

I still remember my first emcee and DJ event like it was yesterday. I was in Hollywood Florida for the second rendition of the Hollywood Half Marathon, doing another warm-up when the radio call that would change my life came in.  It was the event organizer of the Hollywood Half and he was in a bind. For some reason, he could not make it to the start of the event.  “Mark,” he said, “ I am going to need you to emcee this event.

Talk about being thrown into the fire. I was more than a little nervous. But I cued up the music, sipped some water and went to work. By the time the dust settled, the event organizer, the Mayor of Hollywood, Florida, and spectators alike let me know without a shadow of a doubt that emceeing and DJing events was the right move for me.

Since my emcee and DJ debut, I have traveled the nation hosting and DJing events both small and large and it’s been one blast of a ride. I am excited to now bring my talents to Dancing DJ Productions. The myriad of events, weddings, and parties that they put on is right up my alley!

The fact is I love this. I love music (all types of it), I love to dance, I love to laugh and I love having a great time. These are all things I bring to the table for every event I attend. My name is Mark Jones, and if you’ll have me, I’m ready to bring a great time to your next event!

Mark was AMAZING! We first saw him at the Shadowridge open house and were immediately vibing on him. We hit it off with him right away. He asked us what type of music we liked and our only request was that he kept people dancing. We didn’t want anyone in their chairs. And Mark delivered way beyond our expectations. The dance floor was always packed! We had a lot of shy people but the music brought everyone to the dance floor! We also got up lighting that made the dance floor and the whole venue pop! Dj Mark had called us in advance to ask what songs we would like and we left it totally up to him. The only songs we chose were the father daughter dance and our first dance. We put all our trust into his judgment and he did not fail us. He even suggested “the shoe game” which we had never heard of. Where the couple sit back to back and answer questions about each other using their shoes. “Who’s the better cook? Who is the better kisser? Who is messier?” It was really fun and entertaining for everyone. We wish we could get married again just to have him back! We’re recommending him to EVERYONE! Birthday parties, Graduations, Anniversaries, Quinces, Anything! If you get Dj Mark It’ll be a fantastic time!

AHHH Mark Jones is an ABSOLUTELY AMAZING DJ. We’ve had many Employee Appreciation parties where everyone left early bc the DJ wasn’t good but last night was the first in many years where ALL the partners said this is our best party yet thanks to the DJ. His energy from start to finish kept the crowd involved and out on the dance floor. And his music playlist fit everyone, not just one individual. Definitely well organized and a lot of fun! Will definitely be using him again next year!! So kudos for a job well done, everyone was impressed!!

Dancing DJ Productions was a HUGE help not only in providing music for my wedding but also in helping me get a timeline figured out as I did not have a wedding planner. Our DJ was Mark, and he was AMAZING! All of our guests told us how nice and awesome he was. He was very concerned about me and my husband’s wants and desires and made sure to fulfill all requests we asked of him. When I inquired about the company, the owner, Will, called me personally the same day and helped me figure out exactly what I wanted. They also have photo booths, which I was super excited about. And even though they did not have any booths available for my event, Will organized another vendor to provide this service for my reception. Overall, I can not imagine working with a better company and team than Dancing DJs :)

From the moment I reached out to them, Will was incredibly helpful and provided super quick responses to all the questions I had…which was so helpful in the midst of all the planning chaos!
