Wedding at the Japanese Friendship Garden in Balboa Park

It was such an enjoyable experience DJing at Charles and Marites’s celebration! Their November wedding at the Japanese Friendship Garden in Balboa Park was gorgeous. If you haven’t been to the Japanese Friendship Garden in San Diego, I recommend you check it out. It’s a beautiful part of Balboa Park right by the Organ Pavilion and The Prado. They had a lovely ceremony over by the pond. Then we did cocktails, dinner, and dancing in the area shown below.

The bridal party and friends did an awesome six-song surprise musical toast! I helped the Maid of Honor, Mae, plan it prior to the big day. It was amazing, and Charles and Marites were so surprised and moved by it. :)

Japanese Friendship Garden Musical Toast

After the fun toast, we did the cake cutting, father and daughter, and mother and son dances. Charles and Marites wanted to start the dancing with the “Cupid Shuffle” and it was a fun way to get the party going. Then I played a mix of classics and top-40 hits! The dance area was rocking the whole time!

Near the end of the evening, Marites and her friends did a choreographed dance to Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream.”
